Entering the wonderful Japanese Garden...
It seems that the Huntington Gardens all have this recurring theme: bamboos - they can be found in almost all gardens, from very thin and flexible ones to 3-inches thick ones.
Unless I'm mistaken, these twisted trunks belong to Japanese Pines
