On the first day, we setup up to see the impressive Iao needle. It can be found in its own rainforest, North of the island, in the Iao Valley state park (obviously).

One cannot really tell, but the blue speck in the background really is the sea.

Hawaiian people and tourists alike enjoy bathing in the pools at the bottom of the -not really impressive- waterfall found at the foot of the needle.

The needle is 1200 ft high. It is made of lava rock.
